Bruce McMichael is just outstanding! As the POA for my aunts, who had their funeral arrangements made with Bruce, it was such a relief. He took care of everything and offered his help, condolences, etc. not only at the funeral but weeks and months later. You couldn't ask for anything more because he goes above and beyond what he would have to do. A cousin who had a death in her family recently was very impressed with the way Bruce handled everything.
The entire service provided couldn't have been better. The follow-up care and concern for us means so much.

Bruce had handled services for my sister-in-law and mother back in 1987. When we realized Dad was not going to "make it"--we immediately contacted Bruce--it was the easiest decision we had to make and the decision was unanimous with my four brothers and one sister--something we all agreed on. Bruce's facilities are clean, modern and comfortable--my whole family was very pleased. When Dad passed, it was a comfort to all of us knowing Bruce would be taking care of our Dad. While Mr. McMichael did not try to influence us to have an open casket, he suggested the family have a viewing of the deceased before the public viewing. He felt it would be a better image to remember her by. Once we saw her, we had to share her with her friends and others in the family. For this, we are all grateful. We changed from a closed casket to an open viewing because of the great job with the deceased's appearance.

It was a day we never think will arrive; the death of a parent. The person whom brought you into this world, taught you how to throw a baseball and catch a football, taught you how to bait a hook and aim a rifle, was now at rest and peace with God. Having been over 3000 miles away when I got that dreadful call, I quickly began to organize and plan for a flight out the next morning. I can remember very vividly not sleeping a wink that night and arriving at the airport to get into a confrontation with a security guard about unloading my families bags on the curb so I could park the car. Nothing seemed to matter, because I was on a different kind of mission that I am used to; this one involved seeing that my father got a military service that he much deserved and lying him to rest with his buddies. I remember walking through the airport and feeling encapsulated, as I could neither hear anything around me or focus my vision nor senses.
