Albert J. Kessler, 69, of White Birch Lane, Bloomsburg, died Tuesday evening, June 21st, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville where he had been a patient for one day.
Born January 30, 1947 at the Bloomsburg Hospital, he was a son of the late John and Margaret (Herbert) Kessler. He and his wife, Linda K. (Edwards) Kessler, celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on February 22nd.
Mr. Kessler was a longtime employee of the Magee Carpet Company (Autoneum) of Bloomsburg, retiring in 2012 after 35 years of service.
He attended Central Columbia High School and then served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Mr. Kessler was a member of the Bloomsburg American Legion and was a life member of the original Friendship Fire Company of Bloomsburg.
His hobbies included shooting pool, NASCAR, fishing and racing go-karts.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Linda, are his two sons: Allen L. Kessler and Brian P. Kessler, both of Bloomsburg; a grandson, Zach Kessler; a great granddaughter, Isabella Kessler; a brother, Edward Kessler, of Benton and two nieces: Stacy and Michelle.
Graveside Services and military honors will be held Saturday, July 9th, 2016 at 11 AM at Elan Memorial Park.
(It is Al's wish that everyone be in casual attire for his graveside service). Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
