Dale B. Kingsbury, 74, of Old Tioga Turnpike, Benton, died early Thursday morning, September 7, 2017 at his home.

Born September 7, 1943 in Fairmount Township, he was a son of the late Paul and Anna (Laycock) Kingsbury.  He and his wife, Anne M. (Baier) Kingsbury, would have celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on September 17th.

Mr. Kingsbury was a 1961 graduate of Northwest Area High School where he played football.  He then began his 50 year career in road construction retiring as a road construction supervisor for New Enterprise in Tunkhannock in 2014.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, wood working and mowing lawn.  He especially enjoyed spending time with the family on vacations to Canada and Disney World.  He took a special interest in following and supporting his grandchildren in their sports activities. 

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Anne, are his two children: Rick Kingsbury and his wife, Charlotte, of Benton and Lori Womelsdorf and her husband, Dave, also of Benton; five grandchildren: Alivia, Logan, Shawn, Dylan and Dana; a sister, Betty Remley, of Benton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Kingsbury.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 5 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487) with Pastor Scott L. Lyons, officiating.  A Viewing will be held Tuesday from 2 PM until the time of the service at 5 at McMichael's.  Following the service, everyone will be invited to the social hall of Christ the King Church in Benton for a meal and a time of fellowship with the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Red Cross, P.
