David A. Miller, 59, of Stillwater, died Friday morning, June 10th, 2016 at his home following a lengthy illness. 

Born November 25, 1956 at Berwick Hospital, he was a son of Dorothy J. (Temple) Miller of Benton and the late George M. Miller, who died March 27, 2015. He and his wife, Mary Jane (McMichael) Miller, would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on October 10th. 

He attended Benton Schools and then graduated from Columbia Montour Vocational Technical School in 1974.

Dave was a long time employee of Sordoni Construction Company where he was a construction superintendent until poor health forced his retirement.

He was a member of the Bloomsburg Christian Church and also attended the Cambra Christian Church. He had previously been a member of the Stillwater Christian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon, Chairman of the Board, the building committee and on the building and grounds committee. 

He had also served as a Stillwater Borough councilman for many years.

His hobbies included classic cars, wood working and spending time with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are his two daughters: Nichole M. Tucker and her husband, Adam, of Mifflinville; Kellie J. Miller, of Berwick; three grandchildren: Irelyn Alise Miller, Halee Elizabeth Tucker and Oliver David Tucker; two brothers: James M. Miller and his wife, Darlene, of Benton; Gary L. Miller and his wife, Hope, of Benton; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wayne B. and Lois McMichael, of Benton and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, George S. Miller, on April 23, 2006 and a nephew, Christopher G. Miller on September 11, 2002.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 14th, 2016 at 10:30 A. M. at the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater with Pastor Eric Miller, Bloomsburg Christian Church and Pastor David Bronson, Cambra Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Stillwater Cemetery. A Viewing will be held Monday from 5 to 8 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Stillwater Cemetery Association, c/o Frank E. Beishline, 79 Zaners Bridge Road, Stillwater, PA 17878. Dave was very appreciative of all the acts of kindness throughout his illness and his wish would be for people to pay it forward in his memory.
