Dorothy L. (Laubach) Hess, 79, of Benton, died early Sunday morning, January 7, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born, April 28, 1938 in Benton, a daughter of the late Guy A. Laubach, who died February 5, 2003 and Mary A. (Kile) Laubach, who died April 1, 2000.  She and her husband, Allen L. Hess, would have celebrated their 62nd  wedding anniversary on May 12th.

Mrs. Hess was a graduate of Benton High School and had worked as a seamstress at Luzerne Outerwear and Milco Industries.  She last worked at the Bloomsburg Hospital until her retirement.

She was of the United Methodist faith and was a member of the Red Hat Society and the NCCCC, of Benton.

Her hobbies included reading, spending time outside gardening and taking care of her flowers and spending time at the beach.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Allen, are her three sons: Charles E.  Hess and his wife, Debbie; Arthur F. Hess; and Bruce W.  Hess and his wife, Nancy, all of Benton.  Also surviving are 5 grandchildren:  Bridgette Wise, Kelly Pascarella, Bradley, Kevin and Jessica Hess; 5 great grandchildren;  Christian, Morgan, Camren, Caiden and Lucas and a brother, Larry L. Laubach and his wife, Carol, of Millville.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11 A.M. at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487) with the Rev. Howard W. Leh, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, Central, officiating.  Burial will be in the Benton Cemetery.  Viewing Friday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Benton United Methodist Church, Benevolence Fund, P.
