Gerald L. "Jerry" Wolfe

Gerald L. "Jerry" Wolfe, 66, of S. R. 93, North Centre Township, passed away suddenly, Monday, July 11th, 2016 at the Emergency Room of the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, after being stricken ill at his home.

Born September 28, 1949 in Berwick, he was a son of the late Homer and Ethel (Thomas) Wolfe.

He was a 1967 graduate of Central Columbia High School and had been employed as the regional sales manager for Watson & Chalin, previously known as the DANA Corporation. He retired in April 2015.

Mr. Wolfe faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army in the Vietnam War and had been awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Army Occupation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He had also served in the National Guards.

He was a member of the Berwick V. F. W. and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge.

His hobbies included kayaking, bicycling and motorcycling. He especially enjoyed going to carnivals and fairs.

Surviving are his daughter, Kimberly Garrison, a grandson, Timothy E. Garrison II, both of Susquehanna, PA; his former wife and good friend, Katherine Garbacik, of North Centre Township; two sisters: Lois George, of Bloomsburg; Audrey Kelly, of Pottstown and a brother, Jim Wolfe and his wife, Carol, of Bloomsburg as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by the following siblings: Edwin, Floyd, and Larry Wolfe, Evelyn Summers and several that died in infancy.

A Celebration of Life Service and Military Honors will be held Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487) with Pastor Scott Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, officiating. A Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the Service at McMichael's in Benton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
