James L. "Jim" Ross, 61, of rural Stillwater, died early Thursday morning, August 11, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He had been seriously ill for the past 15 months.

Born January 28, 1955 at the Nanticoke Hospital, he was a son of the late Charles L. Ross, Sr., who died August 15, 2008 and Madge I. Young, who died in October of 1987. He and his wife, Treena M. (Harmon) Ross, would have celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on October 18th.

He taught school in Virginia for a brief time and then taught English at Berwick Area School District at both the Middle and High School during his 31 year career before retiring in 2011. He coached boys and girls high school soccer until 1998 and also coached track and field while at Berwick.

Mr. Ross also enjoyed farming throughout his teaching career and following his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports. He took great pride in watching his boys play sports and was always there to support them. He was a member of the Chimney Stack Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed spending time on the mountain with his family and friends.

He previously attended the Cambra Christian Church.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Treena, are his two sons: Clint W. Ross, of Bloomsburg and Cameron J. Ross, at home. Also surviving is his brother, Jeffrey L. Ross, of Montrose, Colorado as well as nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.
