Marion R. Smith, Jr., 79, formerly of Ridge Road, Stillwater, died Sunday, January 14th, 2018 at the Gardens At Orangeville, where he had been a resident since July 2010.

Born November 1, 1938 in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Marion R. Smith and Letha (Peterman) Smith.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth J. "Betty" (Zimmerman) Marr Smith on September 1, 2014.

Mr. Smith was employed as a computer programmer during his working career.

He was a graduate of Benton High School and Bloomsburg State College, now Bloomsburg University.  He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army for four years. 

Mr. Smith was a member of the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his brother, Rodney R.  Smith, of Greenville, SC; three step children:  George W. Marr, Jr. and his wife, Louise, of Nanticoke; John G. Marr, of Shickshinny; Elizabeth Evarts and her husband, Ronald Mark, of Benton and five step grandchildren.

Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Ann Smith in 1979.
