Ronald "Ron" Sutton, of rural Benton (Sugarloaf Township) died early Thursday morning, December 1, 2016 at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Bonnie Sutton, in Mt. Pleasant Township.  

Born August 17, 1950 in Nanticoke, he was a son of Dorothy Marie (Kline) Sutton, of Benton and the late George A. Sutton, who died in 1987.

Mr. Sutton was a 1968 graduate of Benton High School and earned his BS degree from Bloomsburg University in Biology.

He was the Superintendent for the Bloomsburg Municipal Sewer Authority for 40 years, retiring in 2012.

Mr. Sutton was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the former Brandon United Methodist Church.

His hobbies included carpentry, designing and working with stained glass, bird watching, playing pool and fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two brothers:  Richard  (Dick)  and his wife, Christine (Tina) of Moneta, Virginia; Donald  Sutton and his wife, Bonnie, of Bloomsburg; a niece, Donna Deeter and her son Mason; two nephews:  Michael and his wife, Ann Marie and their two children, Andrew and Lauren; Timothy and his wife, Amanda and their daughter, Margot.

Private Graveside Services will be held Monday at the convenience of the family at the New Columbus Cemetery with Rev. Jennifer Parks-Snyder, Lightstreet United Methodist Church, officiating.
