Sara P. (Potter) Rushmore, 91, of Randolph, New Jersey and Mt. Pleasant Township, died Friday afternoon, July 29, 2016 in Mt. Pleasant Township.

Born August 22, 1924 in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late Edson Apgar Potter and Margaret (Hidlay) Potter. She and her husband, William R. Rushmore, celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on April 17th.

Mrs. Rushmore was a graduate of Hampton High School and Rider College in New Jersey.

She had worked for the Courier News in Plainfield, New Jersey as a journalist and later as a secretary at the Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey.

Mrs. Rushmore was an active member of the Morris Plains Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and an elder. She had also done volunteer work for the Church, the Morristown Memorial Hospital and for the town of Morris Plains where she was the Chairperson of the Recreation Committee.

Her hobbies included traveling, shopping and cross stitching.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, William, are her four children: Susan Riley Rushmore, of Millville; Thomas Hidlay Rushmore, of Hatfield, PA; Patricia Ruth Rushmore, of Millville and Pamela Rushmore Nelson, of Morris Plains, NJ. Also surviving are four grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville at the convenience of the family. Services will also be held at a later date at the Morris Plains Presbyterian Church, Morris Plains, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., Benton.
