T. Wesley Phillips, 83, of Myers Road, Cogan Station and formerly of Benton, died Monday, February 6th, 2017.

Born June 21, 1933 in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Thomas W. Phillips and Ruth (Adams) Phillips. 

Mr. Phillips was a 1952 graduate of Bloomsburg High School and also took drafting courses in Newport, RI as well as business management courses at the University of New Hampshire. He also attended Eastern Christian Institute and Lincoln Christian College where he received degrees in Theology.   He was a carpenter by trade.

He was a former member of the Benton Christian Church and currently a member of the Lycoming Christian Church where he served as a trustee.  He was also a board member of Sylvan Hill Christian Service Camp.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Trout Unlimited and the N. R. A.

Surviving are his two children:  Tom W. Phillips of  Atlanta, Georgia; Diane Dionne, of West Palm Beach, Florida;  9 grandchildren;  his siblings:   Mary Jane Baker and her husband, Grant, of Rome, PA; Judith Shoemaker, Montoursville; a sister, Martha Stroble and her husband, Terry, of Cogan Station, with whom he made his home.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary and by two brothers:  Leroy Phillips and Ben F. Phillips.

Services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11 A. M. at the Lycoming Christian Church  with the Rev. Dr. Ryan Martin, officiating.  Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 at the Church.   Arrangements are under the direction of the McMichael Funeral Home Inc., Benton.
