Anna (Bixler) Pennington

Anna  (Bixler) Pennington, 85, of Benton, died late Wednesday afternoon, August 22nd, 2018 at Bonham Nursing Center.

Born December 16, 1932 in Perry County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth (Steele) Bixler.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, A. Ross Pennington, Jr., on July 30, 2004.

Mrs. Pennington was a 1950 graduate of Duncannon High School.  She had been employed as a secretary / bookkeeper for the former Dol-Ang Manufacturing, in Benton, which later became known as Krystal Fashions, where she retired from.

Surviving, are her two children:  Rodney D. Pennington and his wife, Julie, of Benton; Jill E. Pennington, of Muncy; a grandson, Douglas Pennington, of Benton and his fiancée, Breanna Heckman, and two sisters: Burnadetta Bixler and Ruth Bixler, both of Mechanicsburg.

 Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings:  Leona Hennessy, Vivian Bixler and Luther Bixler.

Viewing and Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc.,4394 Red Rock Road, Benton with Pastor Scott L. Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, officiating.   Burial will be in the Benton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Geisinger Hospice, 410 Glenn Avenue, Suite 200, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
