Bruce A. Jankowski

Bruce A. Jankowski,  64, formerly of Benton and more recently a resident of Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center, died Tuesday evening, May 29, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born November 23, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan, he was a son of the late Tadeusz A. "Ted" Jankowski, who died March 21, 2001 and Mary S. "Marie" (Lojewski) Jankowski, who died December 8, 2004.

Bruce grew up in Bridesburg/Philadelphia and along with his parents, moved to Benton in 1986.  He loved people and enjoyed visiting the various businesses in Benton on a daily basis.  He was well known and deeply embedded in the fabric of life in Benton.   In his healthier years, while living in Benton, he greeted the teachers and students at the school as they arrived each morning.  He was a very dedicated member of his Church, Christ the King Catholic Church in Benton.  He dearly loved his church family and appreciated all their support and friendship.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Legion of Mary.

Surviving are his brother, Jan T. Jankowski, and his wife, Charlotte, of Bloomsburg; a sister, Sharon Hutchison and her husband, William, of Stillwater; three nephews and a niece:  Dan Jankowski and his wife, Holly, of Waller; John Jankowski and his wife, Renee, of Lightstreet; Tom Jankowski and his wife, Mia, of Buckhorn; and Sue Sopkie and her husband, Steven, of Laflin.  Also surviving are an aunt, Theresa Falcinelli, of Philadelphia, numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 4th, 2018 at10 A. M. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 300 Mendenhall Lane, Benton, with Father Richard J. Mowery, as Celebrant.  Burial will be in the Benton Cemetery.  Viewing, Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, (S.
