Dawn M. (Chepey) Sitler, 82, of Lightstreet, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born September 7, 1935 in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late Joseph A. Chepey and Mildred I. (Horrax) Chepey. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" W. Sitler, on February 16, 2011, whom she had married November 22, 1956.
She was a 1955 graduate of Berwick Area High School. She enjoyed working at the Berwick Area School cafeteria as well as a number of local businesses.
Mrs. Sitler was a member of the Mifflinville United Methodist Church where she sang in the Choir and was on the "Easter Egg Committee".
She enjoyed singing in the Berwick Sweet Adeline's and was a member of the Melody Belles Quartet for the Barbershoppers. An avid bowler, she was a member of a bowling league at the former Zephyr Bowling Lanes. An avid supporter of her grandchildren, she enjoyed attending their games and events.
Surviving are her four daughters: Julieann Eroh and her husband, Bradley, of Bloomsburg; Connie Berkes and her husband, Stephen, of Berwick; Barbara Collins and her husband, Jerome, of Berwick; Sandy Sitler, of Ashburn, VA; seven grandchildren: Hannah Eroh, Scott and Brandon Berkes, Denise Collins Hall, Mitchell Collins and Travis and Mason Russell.
Also surviving are a brother, James J. Chepey and his wife, Elaine, of Texas; also Dawn's sister, Jacqueline A. Benscoter and her husband, Timothy, of Bloomsburg.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine B. Hartman.
A one hour viewing will be held Monday, May 28th, 2018 at 1:00 at the Mifflinville United Methodist Church, Fourth and Market Streets, Mifflinville with funeral services to begin at 2 P.M. Rev. Dr. Kenneth Gunter will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, Columbia County Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
