Dorethea L. (Hess) Dohl

Dorethea L. (Hess) Dohl, 66, of Old Tioga Turnpike, Benton, died Monday afternoon, October 1, 2018 at her home.  She had been in ill health since July.

Born December 9, 1951 at the Nesbitt Hospital in Nanticoke, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Dorothy (Meeker) Hess. She and her husband, Larry R. "Butch" Dohl, celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on August 1st.

Mrs. Dohl was a 1969 graduate of Northwest Area High School.  She assisted her husband with the operation of the family farm and also worked at the Mountain Fresh Market for a short time.

She served as the secretary for the Mossville Cemetery Association.  Her greatest love was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Butch, are her two children:  Raymond E. Dohl, of Benton and Denise A. Dohl, also of Benton; three grandchildren:  Alex, Jordis and Jacob Dohl.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in the Mossville Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E.
