Edward "Ed" Lukashewski, Jr., 67, of Benton Township, died Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Emergency Room after being stricken ill at his home.
Born September 3, 1950 in Nanticoke, he was a son of Margaret (Ceaser) Lukashewski, of Dorrance, and the late Edward Lukashewski, Sr. He and his wife, Yvonne M. (Fetzer) Lukashewski, celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on July 25th.
Mr. Lukashewski was a 1968 graduate of Crestwood High School. He worked in the family business as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator and was currently employed by Benton Township at the time of his death.
He served his country in the U. S. Army National Guard and was an active member of the Raven Creek Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder.
He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Yvonne, and mother, Margaret, are his two sons: Richard E. Lukashewski and his wife, Ann, of Benton and Daniel R. Lukashewski and his wife, Joan, of Wapwallopen; 3 grandchildren: Patience Lukashewski, Dylan Lukashewski, Angel Lukashewski; three great grandchildren: Sophie Rae Lukashewski, Elena Rose Lukashewski and Willow Ann Lukashewski; brothers and sisters: Julia Vencak and her husband, Mike, of Hobbie; Margaret Palsha and her husband, Ed; Frank Lukashewski and his wife, Beverly; and Raymond Lukashewski, all of Wapwallopen and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three siblings in infancy and by a sister, Anna Lukashewski.
Services will be held Saturday, August 18th, 2018 at 11A. M. at the Raven Creek Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. O. Allen Lumpkin, his pastor, officiating. Friends and relatives will be received from 10 A. M. until the time of the service at 11 at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Raven Creek Presbyterian Church, 993 Upper Raven Creek Road, Benton, PA 17814.
