Etta Mae (Ritter) Edwards, 83, of Bloomsburg, died Wednesday afternoon, August 1st, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville where she had been admitted earlier in the day.
Born January 27, 1935 in Danville, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Freda M. (Erlston) Ritter. She and her husband, V. Jack Edwards, would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on November 6th.
Mrs. Edwards was a 1952 graduate of Danville High School and was employed by Milco Industries in Bloomsburg. She had also worked for the head-start program at the W. W. Evans School and in her younger days, for Woolworths in Danville.
She was an active member of the Lime Ridge United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.
Mrs. Edwards enjoyed going out for breakfast with various classmates, retirees and family. She also enjoyed traveling and going on bus trips. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, Jack, are her two daughters: Rose M. Hagerman and her husband, Gary, of Danville; Karen L. Malone and her husband, Barry, of Newport; five grandchildren: Brent, Heather, Nathan, Tony and Nick; four great grandchildren: Sydney, Alyson, Joseph and Danielle; a sister, Dorothy Baylor and her husband, Frank, of Danville; a sister-in-law, Rose Ritter, of Bloomsburg; a brother-in-law, Larue "Pappy" Rupert, of Bloomsburg; three nieces and a nephew: Barbara, Bradley, Dona and Jenny.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly A. Rupert; a brother, Robert L. Ritter and by a grandson, Jacob D. Parkes.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 at 5 P. M. at the Lime Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Vincent N. Keister, her Pastor, officiating. Viewing will be Tuesday from 3 PM until the time of the service at 5:00 at the Church.
