Helen C. (Maziarczyk) Snyder

Helen C. (Maziarczyk) Snyder, 92, of Stillwater, died Monday morning, January 13, 2020 at her home following a lengthy illness.

Born June 1, 1927 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Izydor and Agnes (Naklicki) Maziarczyk. 

Helen attended schools in Cambra and Huntington Mills.  She also attended Bloomsburg University and earned her LPN degree through Geisinger Medical Center.

In her younger years, she worked for the family store in Central for 19 years and later for Vision Quest in Tucson, Arizona and the Benton Foundry.  She had also done private duty nursing at Danville State Hospital and Berwick Hospital.

Helen was a dedicated member of St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guide Committee.  She was also a member of the Benton V. F. W. Auxiliary.

Surviving are her children: Veronica S. Kile and her husband, Kermit; R. Melissa Hudack and her husband, Richard, of Benton and Edward E. Snyder and his wife, Charlotte, of Texas.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a sister, Anna Sherman of South Dakota and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son A. Allen Snyder and the following siblings:  Caroline Smialek, Mary A. Russo, Sophie Domanski, Charles "Kaz" Maziarczyk, Stella Kindig, Michael S. Maziarczyk, Joseph Maziarczyk and Frances Maziarczyk, who died in infancy.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 17th, 2020 at 11 A. M. at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487).  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959 or to St. Michael's School for Special Children, P. O.
