Henry A. Schumacher, 65, of Benton, died late Monday evening, May 14, 2018 at Geisinger Bloomsburg Health Care Center.
Born, September 3, 1952, he was a son of Joan E. (Wolf) Schumacher Meyer and the late John Schumacher.
Henry owned and operated the Jamison City Hotel until 1999. He had also previously worked as a township supervisor.
He was a member of the Order of Raccoons, the North Mountain Fire Company and Ambulance Association.
An avid hunter, he especially enjoyed turkey hunting.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, Joan, are his sons: Christopher Diltz, of Central and Dustin Schumacher of Benton; his siblings: a twin brother, Charles Schumacher and his wife, Cindy, of Laporte; Joan Vashey and her husband, Ronald, of New Jersey; Kevin Schumacher and his wife, Debbie, of Benton; Michael Schumacher, of Central; Jody Boyle and her husband, Andrew, of Jamison City and Catherine Lewis and her husband, John, of New Jersey. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his father, John, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, William Meyer and by two brothers: John H. Schumacher on August 30, 2011 and Albert F. Schumacher, on January 28, 2016.
A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Jamison City Hotel.
