Janet M. (Wallace) Kelsall Konen, 82, of Benton, died early Sunday morning, June 16th, 2019 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Born May 17, 1937 in Nanticoke, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Isabell (Reikes) Wallace. She and her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Konen, would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on November 29th.
Janet was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, New Jersey. She had been employed as a secretary for various physicians in New Jersey and Maryland prior to her retirement.
She and her husband moved to Benton in 2006. She was a member of Stillwater Christian Church where she volunteered in the Nursery.
Her hobbies included crafts and crocheting.
In addition to her husband, Jerry, she is survived by two children: Dawn M. Brennan and her husband, John, of Runnemede, NJ; Thomas J. Kelsall, of Magnolia, NJ; five grandchildren: Tara, Eric, Amy, T. J., Jade; two great grandchildren: Isabella and Liviana; and by a sister, Sandra Kayes and her husband, Barry, of The Villages, Florida.
Services will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 at 12 Noon at the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater, with Pastors Scott Lyons and Jason Simpkins, officiating. There will be a visitation at the Church on Friday from 11 AM until the time of the Service at noon. A luncheon will follow the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
