Linda Morris Obituary

Linda E. (Wenner) Morris, 73, of rural Orangeville, died early Saturday morning, November 30th, 2019 at the Gardens at Orangeville Nursing Home, following a brief illness.

Born July 25, 1946 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, she was a daughter of Jessie M. (Fine) Wenner Whitenight, of Benton and the late Leonard J. Wenner, who died in 1975.  Linda and her husband, Thomas E. "Tom" Morris, would have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on January 8th.

Linda was a 1964 graduate of Benton High School and attended Bloomsburg State College.  She worked as a teacher's aid at the Benton Area School District and as a library aid at Benton and the Central Columbia School District.  She also worked as a caregiver and did domestic work, retiring around 2000.

She was an active member of the Rohrsburg Christian Church where she taught Sunday School for 25 years and volunteered for short term mission trips.  She assisted her husband, Tom, with his chalk-art ministry for many years.  She was also an officer of the Benton High School Alumni Association.

Linda enjoyed being a homemaker and was known for her gardening, cooking, baking, canning, and sewing.  She also especially enjoyed her flower gardens.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and serving them with her kind and humble spirit--she had a servant's heart.

Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, are her two sons:  Thomas E. Morris and his wife, Rachel, of Thornton, Colorado; Timothy L. Morris and his wife, Jill, of Knoxville, Tennessee; two granddaughters:  Casey Morris Wadsack and her husband, Stephen, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Bethany Bode and her husband, Benjamin, of Thornton, Colorado; two sisters:  Sandra K. Kelsey, of Langhorne, and Trudie Welliver and her husband, Howard, of Millville as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Hobart D. Whitenight on June 19th, 2019.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019 at 11 AM at the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater with Pastors Michael Woolcock and Scott Lyons officiating.  Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery, Fishing Creek Township.  A Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 until the time of the Service at 11:00 at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Rohrsburg Christian Church, 636 Rohrsburg Road, Orangeville, PA 17859.  The McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., of Benton, is honored to serve the Morris Family.  For online condolences or for additional information, please visit our website:  www.mcmichaelfuneralhome.com
