Mariann May Houseweart, 60, of Benton (Raven Creek), died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 at her home.

Born March 10,1957 in Danville, she was a daughter of the late Fred Elmer and Genevieve Grace (Richardson) Houseweart.

Mariann was a 1975 graduate of Benton High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Misericordia University in 1979.  She also earned her Master's degree in Education and Human Development / Rehabilitation Counseling from George Washington University in Washington, D. C. 

She had been employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Labor and Industry as a vocational rehabilitation counselor and supervisor.  She retired in December 2012 after 33 years of service.

She was a member of the Raven Creek Presbyterian Church, the Daughters of American Colonists, the Daughters of American Revolution, the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter #279, Bloomsburg where she was currently serving as Secretary and was a past matron and past deputy.  She was also a member of the MENSA Society.

Her hobbies included genealogy and she was a local history buff.

Surviving, are her brother, Fred E. Houseweart and his wife, Judy, of Benton; nieces and nephews:  Fred Elmer Houseweart, III; Cecile M. Davis; Galen W. Houseweart, and Erin G. Houseweart; two great nieces and a great nephew:  Ashlyn, Adrian and Kenadi.   Also surviving  are her former sister-in-law, Bernadine K. Houseweart and a special cousin, Judy Richardson.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 2nd, 2017 at 11A. M. at the Raven Creek Presbyterian Church, Upper Raven Creek Road, Benton with Rev. O. Allen Lumpkin, her Pastor, officiating.  The Order of Eastern Star will conduct services at 10:45 A. M.  Burial will be in the Raven Creek Cemetery.  Visitation, Monday, from 9:30 AM until the time of the Service at 11:00 at the Church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Raven Creek Presbyterian Church, Upper Raven Creek Road, Benton, PA 17184.   Arrangements are under the direction of the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., Benton.  For online condolences, or for additional information, please visit our website:  www.mcmichaelfuneralhome.com
