Paul E. Slonaker, Jr.

Paul E. Slonaker, Jr., 67, of Benton, died early Saturday morning, July 20, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born March 7, 1952 at the Muncy Valley Hospital, he was a son of the late Paul Eugene Slonaker, Sr. and Velma Althea (Reed) Slonaker.  He and his wife, Claudia (Colley) Slonaker, would have celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on October 10th.

Paul was a 1970 graduate of Millville High School he also attended Williamsport Area Community College. 

He had been employed by Heinz Pet Products in Bloomsburg until his retirement.

Paul attended St. Gabriel's Church of Benton.  He was also a member of Highland Park and a social member of the Benton V. F. W.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed skeet/trap shooting and hunting.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his two granddaughters.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Claudia, are his son, Matthew Paul Slonaker and his wife, Bethany, of Bloomsburg and their two daughters:  Lillian and Delaney Slonaker; a sister, Ruth Delong and her husband, James, of Myerstown.

Services will be held Thursday, July 25th, 2019 at 2 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Rev. James Delong, officiating.  A Visitation will be held Thursday from 1 PM until the time of the service at 2:00 at McMichael's.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Animal Resource Center,  P.
