Rita L. (Eaton) Minto, 89, of Jackson Township, died suddenly Monday, December 17, 2018 at her home.
Born May 8, 1929 in Brockton, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Mary Eaton. She and her husband, Rev. Walter E. Minto, Sr., would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary on June 3rd.
Mrs. Minto attended the Philadelphia School of the Bible and Paterson State University, Paterson, NJ where she earned her Master's degree.
She taught elementary school at the Pine Bush Central School in Circleville, New York for 17 1/2 years.
Mrs. Minto was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Benton and also attended Jackson Baptist Church, Derrs.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and was an excellent seamstress and made many of her own dresses. She was also known to be a very faithful Pastor's wife.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, Rev. Walter E. Minto, Sr., are her five sons: Joel Minto and his wife, Gwen, of Lancaster; David L. Minto, of Benton; Robert Minto and his wife, Monica, of Gettysburg; Rev. Walter E. Minto, Jr. and his wife, Laurie, of Bloomsburg; Daniel Minto and his wife, Yuan, of Wake Forest, NC. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; a brother, Earl Eaton, of Brockton, Massachusetts and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 11 A. M. at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487) with her son, the Rev. Walter E. Minto, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in the Waller Cemetery. A Viewing will be held Friday from 10 AM until the time of the Service at 11 at McMichael's. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Bible Baptist Church of Benton, 250 Shickshinny Road, Benton, PA 17814.
