Timothy S. "Tim" Lontz, 64, of Stillwater, died Tuesday evening, November 19, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center where he had been a patient since August 10th.
Born September 27, 1955 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late William Joseph Lontz and Elizabeth H. (Bolig) Lontz. He and his wife, Lorelei (Shakley) Lontz, celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on May 17th.
Tim was a graduate of Central Dauphin East High School and also attended Harrisburg Area Community College and the Police Academy in Hershey. He worked as a police officer in Millersburg in the 1970's. After that he was employed by the Susquehanna Steam Electric Plant near Berwick, for more than 30 years, where he worked in security, until his retirement in 2014.
He was a member of the Columbia County Sheriff's Posse Team and a member of Oriental Lodge, #260, F. & A. M., of Orangeville. He was also a wrestling coach for Benton High School for 10 years.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding. He also enjoyed going to the beach and a huge wrestling fan.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Lorelei, are his five children: Nicole D. Lontz, of Mt. Union, PA; Timothy Scott Lontz, II, of New Jersey; Beth Anne Becker and her husband, Michael, of Hastings, PA; Megan L. Lontz, of Williamsport and Brandon K. Lontz, of Durham, NC. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; two brothers: William Joseph Lontz, Jr. and his wife, Tami, of Wisconsin and Doug Lontz, of Harrisburg and a sister, Sally House, of Wisconsin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald L. Lontz.
Funeral Services with Masonic Services will be held Tuesday, November 26th, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487). Pastor Scott L. Lyons of the Stillwater Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Stillwater Cemetery. A Viewing will be held Monday evening from 5 to 7 PM at McMichael's and Tuesday morning from 10 AM until the time of the Service at 10:30 A. M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, Columbia County Unit, 1948 East Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701 or to the American Liver Foundation, 1528 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102.
