Alice L. (Jordan) Steinruck

Alice L. (Jordan) Steinruck, 80, of Benton, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, March 15, 2025 at her home.

Born January 23, 1945 in Penn Township, Lycoming County, she was a daughter of the late Ira Lee Jordan  and Margaret Alice (Meredith) Jordan.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Harold A. Steinruck, on December 27, 2020.

She was a graduate of Hughesville High School, Class of 1963.  Alice had been employed by the Benton Area High School Cafeteria from 1977 until the time of her death. 

She enjoyed baking, yard sales and spending time with her family.  She will always be remembered for her delicious baked goods at the Benton Memorial  Day yard sale.  She and her husband had also been long time volunteers for the Benton Fire Company carnivals as well as the Benton Rodeo.

Surviving are her two daughters: Kendra Proctor, of Hughesville; Lara Miller, wife of Mark, of Palmyra, PA; her grandchildren:  William Everitt and his wife, Danyell, of Benton; Brianna Everitt and her partner, Tom Wagner, of Benton; Claire Miller, of Palmyra; and great grandchildren:  Brentley and Zane Wagner. 

Also surviving are her sisters:  Nancy Poust, Cindy Gavitt, Claris Lutz and by a brother, Henry Jordan.

Along with her parents, and husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by two brothers:  Brady Jordan and Daniel "Joe" Jordan.

Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Benton Fire Company, P. O. Box 252, Benton, PA 17814 or to the Fairmount Springs Church, c/o Gail Sorber, 218 Old County Road, Benton, PA 17814.
