Allen L. Hess, 88, of Benton, died Monday evening, June 7th, 2021 at the Bonham Nursing Center, Stillwater.
Born April 9, 1933 in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Sadie (Keeler) Tiffany. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy L. (Laubach) Hess, on January 7, 2018.
Mr. Hess was a graduate of Benton High School and attended Williamsport Area Community College. He had been employed as a machinist for Textron / Lycoming, retiring in 1995.
He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Benton V. F. W.
An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Fishing Creek Sportsmen's Club.
Surviving, are his two sons: Charles E. Hess and his wife, Debbie; and Bruce W. Hess and his wife, Nancy, all of Benton. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Bridgette Wise, Kelly Pascarella, Bradley, Kevin and Jessica Hess; 5 great grandchildren; Christian, Morgan, Camren, Caiden and Lucas.
Also surviving are his siblings: Delphine Meyers, of Flagler Beach, Florida; Ronald Hess, Chester, PA: Graydon Hess, Wilmington, Delaware; Geneva Houseweart, of Benton; Lyle Tiffany, of Gettysburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, Dorothy, he was preceded in death by a son, Arthur F. Hess, on January 3, 2019 and by a sister, Jeanette Trainor and a brother, Walter Tiffany.
Graveside Services and military honors will be held Friday, August 27th, 2021 at 10 AM at the Benton Cemetery. Pastor Scott Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Fishing Creek Sportsmen's Club, P. O. Box 331, Benton, PA 17814.
