Andrew James "A.J." Hess, 14, of Blue Springs Terrace, Danville, died Wednesday morning, July 1st, 2020 at the Fire Pit Campground in Eyers Grove.

Born March 21, 2006 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, he was a son of Shane T. and Carrie S. (Derrick) Hess, of Danville.

A. J. was a student at the Danville Middle School. He loved spending time at the campground, riding his four-wheeler, playing video games and word searches.

Surviving are his parents, Shane T. and Carrie S. (Derrick) Hess; a sister, Sierra N. Hess and a brother, Tristian M. Hess; his paternal grandparents: Anthony and Gail Hess, of Millville and his maternal grandfather, Larry Derrick, of Millville. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Tammy Derrick.
