Anel Ortiz-Velez

Anel Ortiz-Velez, 48, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Advent Health, Orlando.

Born November 27, 1974 in the Bronx, New York, she was a daughter of Miguel and the late Daisy (Rodriguez) Ortiz. 

She attended the Mable Dean Bacon High School in New York, NY. 

She attended Christ the King Catholic Church in Benton.

Anel enjoyed dancing, music, puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren and adored her canine friends.

Surviving are her boyfriend of five years, Alfred Perez; her former husband, William D. Velez; her children:  Marc Velez and his companion, Erin Houseweart; Brandan Velez and his wife,  Sierra;  Samatha Morris and her husband, Galen Houseweart, all of Orangeville; her nine grandchildren:  Neaveah Morris, Kylynn Houseweart, Ava Houseweart, Weston Houseweart, Amaya Velez, Adrian Santiago, Sutton Velez, Daxton Velez and Credence Velez; her siblings:  Miguel, Denise, Norma, Ada, Miriam, Sandra and Zulma.    

Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as Gloria Cortes, who raised her following the death of her mother.

Services will be held Friday, March 24th, 2023 at 2 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Father Andrew  P. St.Hilaire, Christ The King Catholic Church, Benton, officiating.
