Annette K. Sagar of Benton Township, passed on January 9, 2026 at “The Gardens Nursing Home”, in Orangeville.
Born August 19, 1961 in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Tonia (Osinski) Sagar and Robert Sagar.
Annette spent most of her life in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, living in Benton since she was ten. She was a graduate of Benton High School and was employed in various jobs in her earlier years, including a nursing home aide at Charmund Nursing Home, Orangeville and an aide at Danville Daycare.
Annette was active in her community. She was a member of Hamline Church, where she participated in their services and activities. She volunteered at the Benton Food Bank, helping to package and distribute food. She attended music programs with friends and always offered to help where needed. A committed reader, she took advantage of the services of the Columbia County Book Mobile and was an almost daily visitor at the Country Fresh Market.
Annette loved people and socializing, making many friends along her way, over the years. They brightened her life as she, so often, became a warm and enduring light in theirs. She was known for cheerful outlook, her floppy hat, her love for her cats and “Rosie”, the dog.
Annette was an indomitable spirit, who powered through many difficulties to find a fresh new life and those of us who truly knew her will hold her in our hearts and remember her warmth and kindness.
Surviving is her brother, Robert M. Sagar, a niece, Nahanni Sagar, and a nephew, Elias Sagar, Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada; step-mother, Tonya Boston-Sagar, Benton Township and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hamline Church, 239 south, Shickshinny Road, three and a half miles outside of Benton, on January 24, at 2pm.
An honor gathering for Annette will also be held at the Sagar farm in August, hosted by the Sagar family. Day and time to be announced at a later date.
Contributions in Annette’s name can be given to the Hamline Church or Benton Food Bank.
