Audrey L. (Vaneekhoven) Sacks, 93, of rural Benton, died Saturday afternoon, April 19, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born May 5, 1931 in Morrisville, Bucks County, she was a daughter of the late Frank J. Vaneekhoven, Sr. and Frances (Lovett) Vaneekhoven. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry B. Sacks, on November 7, 1984.
Audrey loved children and had served as a babysitter for many of the area children. In her later years, she was also a caregiver for the elderly.
She was a member of the Lungerville Christian Church and had also attended Stillwater Christian Church.
Audrey enjoyed crocheting, gardening and flowers, but she especially cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving, are her children: Kenneth R. Sacks, of Bloomsburg; Terry A. Sacks, of Benton and Cindy L. Pennypacker and her husband, Donald R., of Benton; four grandchildren, Shannon Sacks, Jason Howell, Hollie N. Hess and Joshua R. Hess; three great grandchildren: Renee Howell, Adelyn Howell and Emily Howell.
She was the last member of her immediate family being preceded in death by 10 siblings. Along with her parents, siblings, and husband, Harry, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene F. Hess on May 25, 2017;
two daughters-in-law: Mary C. Sacks and Jean Marie Sacks.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Lungerville Cemetery, Jordan Township. There will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you have a tree planted in her memory.
