Bertha J. (Knouse) Davis

Bertha J. (Knouse) Davis, 91, of Benton Township, died Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 14, 1932 in Greenwood Township, she was a daughter of the late Richard Charles Knouse and Florence Mildred (Clemons) Knouse.

She was a 1950 graduate of Millville High School.

Bertha had been employed by Roslyn Yarns, of Danville; Poloron, Berwick Offray and the Press Enterprise during her working years.

She enjoyed being a homemaker with her cooking, baking and canning.  She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening and reading.

Surviving are her seven children:  Daniel Davis, of Elk Grove; Timothy Davis and his wife, Marian, of Danville; Wanda Davis-Brown and her husband, Curtis, of Sylva, NC; Ron Davis, of Almedia; Patti Davis Clark, of Bloomsburg; Gary Davis and his significant other, Debbie Gemmel, of Buckeye, AZ; Neil Davis, of Benton; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was the last member of her immediate family and along with her parents, was preceded in death by four siblings:  Charles "Buck" Knouse; Elizabeth "Betty" Albertson; Blanche Knouse and Tom Knouse.

Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family at Jackson Cemetery, Derrs.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA  22116-7023.
