Betty Jean (Dohl) Keck Kline, 88, formerly of Stillwater (Fishing Creek Township), passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, June 30th, 2026 at Brookdale, Bloomsburg, where she had been a resident for the past year and a half.
Born, February 14, 1938 in Ashley, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Karl William Dohl and Laura Ethel (Forney) Dohl. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Melvin M. Kline, on September 24, 2020.
Betty Jean was a 1956 graduate of Ashley High School. She spent her working career in banking with 50 years of service. She was a long time employee of Columbia County Farmers National Bank, now Journey Bank, where she was a branch manager at the Orangeville office until her retirement in 2008.
She was a very active member of the Jonestown United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Susque County Square Dancers. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening and sewing.
Surviving are her children: David K. Keck and his companion, Carol Corey, of Berwick; James L. Kline and his wife, Tami, of Jonestown; Sharon Zieverink and husband, Steve, of Texas; Connie J. Fritz and husband, John, of Millville; four grandchildren: Rebecca, Sarah, Jared, and Andrew; five great-grandchildren: Emily, Tori, Zane, Lydia and Juliette; her sister, Agnes Keck, of Berwick as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Melvin, she was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Dohl and two sisters: Beatrice Wolfe and Joyce Dohl.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Dodson Cemetery, Southdale with Pastor Todd Davis, officiating.
