Betty Jean (Cragle) Keller, 91, of rural Orangeville (Fishing Creek Township), died Sunday morning, September 11, 2022 at the Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital.
Born October 21, 1930, in Hunlock Creek, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Esther (Gensel) Cragle. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Earl F. Keller, on July 14, 2008.
She assisted her husband with the family farm in Fishing Creek Township for many years until their retirement. They also operated Keller's Farm Market and were known to have the area's first sweet corn of the season,year after year. She also was a school bus driver for the Benton Area School district for many years.
Jean was an avid cook and always had homemade meals on the table for her family and the farm hands. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, shopping (especially at Boscov's) and going to local carnivals. She especially enjoyed spending time with her great grandson and watching him bowl. She was also a proud Trump fan and supporter.
Surviving are her two children: Randy A. Keller and his wife, Lynn, of Hummels Wharf; Darlia J. Sponenberg and her husband, Lewis "Bob", of Orangeville; three grandchildren: Tabatha Sponenberg, Bradley Keller and Mackenzie Keller. Also surviving are her two great grandchildren: Cody Neff and Charlotte Keller.
Along with her parents and her husband, Earl, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry E. Keller on February 8, 2017.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 16th, 2022 at 3:30 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Pastor Mark A. Stoker, officiating. Private burial will be in the Benton Cemetery. A Viewing will be held Friday from 2 PM until the time of the Service at 3:30 at McMichael's.
