Betty Jane (Fritz) Victory

Betty Jane (Fritz) Victory, 97, of Niagara Falls, New York and formerly of Fritz Hill Road, Benton, Sugarloaf Township, died Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Niagara Hospice, Lockport, New York.

Born June  9, 1926 in Sugarloaf Township, Columbia County, she was a daughter of the late George J. and Cloera "Peggy" (Fritz) Fritz.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William B. "Bill" Victory, on January 11, 2013.

Mrs. Victory graduated from Benton  High School in 1944 and then moved to Niagara Falls where she attended and graduated from Kelly Business Institute.  

She was employed  as an executive secretary for most of her working career and had worked for Greif Brothers, DuPont and had also worked as a home care coordinator for Niagara County  Home Care.

While living in the Benton area, she was an active member of St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild.  She was also a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, NY where she was active with the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.  

She was very involved with genealogy and was a proud member of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR).  She was also an accomplished seamstress and known as an excellent baker.  

Surviving are her three children:  Brian W. Victory and his wife, Julie, of Stroudsburg; Brenda J. Donley and her husband, Rev. Bruce Donley, of Niagara Falls, NY; Barry R. Victory and his wife, Susan, of Sanford, Florida; 3 grandchildren;  Zachary Donley, Hannah Donley and Mariah Kenny and her husband, Joshua; two great granddaughters:  Sophia and Ellie Kenny; 3 step grandchildren:  Kristin Abell; Heather Abell and her husband, Daniel Rockhill; and Matthew Abell and his wife, Linea;  a step great granddaughter, Emerson Abell and a sister-in-law, Barbara Fritz, of Albany, New York.

Along with  her parents and husband, Bill, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack E. Fritz.

Private Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the Family at the Waller Cemetery, Jackson Township under the direction of the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY   14094.
