Beverly A. (Ribble) Kingsbury, 88, of Boonsboro, Maryland, and formerly of Stillwater, PA died peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the home of her daughter, Wendy, in Boonsboro, Maryland.
Born at home February 8, 1936 in Paperdale, PA, she was a daughter of the late Paul Revere Ribble and Edna (Allbeck) Ribble. She married John “Jack” Kingsbury of Red Rock, PA in 1955. Their union was ended by his passing in July 1983.
Beverly was a 1954 graduate of Benton High School. She assisted her husband, Jack, with the operation of the family farm in Stillwater for many years. When her husband entered the ministry at Lungerville Christian Church and later at Granville Center Church of Christ, she was honored to support and share in his ministries. She also worked for many years as a nursing assistant at the Bradford County Manor near Troy, PA.
Beverly enjoyed gardening, canning, and raising her family. She often said her favorite time in life was raising her babies. Beverly had an eye for decorating and wherever she lived her home was pleasant and welcoming. After Jack’s passing, she had opportunities to travel and visited many places in the United States and in Europe.
She had been a long-time and active member of Stillwater Christian Church. After moving to Boonsboro she was a faithful member of the Church of Christ in the Great Valley.
Surviving are her five children: Connie Boonie and her husband, Ken, of Beavertown, PA; Yvonne Kingsbury, of Stillwater; Jill Derr, of Indiana, PA; John Kingsbury and his wife, Beth, of Red Rock, PA; Wendy Strunk and her husband, Casey Strunk, Sr., of Boonsboro, MD; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and her husband, John “Jack” Kingsbury in 1983 were; a daughter, Rebecca A. ”Becky” Vick, on July 13, 2020; a grandson, Joseph “Joey” Reabuck on May 15, 2011, her siblings: Paul Eugene Ribble on May 19, 2012; William Dexter Ribble on May 27, 2016; Donna Derr on July 31, 2015; Doris Miller on September 11, 1992; and by an infant sister, Connie Rose Ribble on May 9, 1947.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 9, 2025 at
the Stillwater Christian Church with Pastor Scott Lyons, officiating. A visitation will be held from 2 PM until the time of the service at 2:30 at the Church. Burial will be in the Stillwater Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater, PA 17878.
