Beverly L. Sorber, 73, of Town Hill, died Monday evening, May 25th, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born October 5, 1946 at the former Nanticoke Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Lee F. Sorber, who died in 1950 and Mary (Gregory) Sorber Phillips, who died in 2013.
Beverly was a 1964 graduate of Northwest Area High School. She lived and worked in the Hartford, Connecticut area from 1967 to 1993 for the Thomas S. Haley Company as an administrative secretary. She was also the Secretary/Treasurer for four of Mr. Haley's companies in the medical care field.
She was president of the Theater Newington and original member of the Hole-In-The-Wall Theater Ensemble while living in Connecticut.
Beverly was an active member of the Town Hill United Methodist Church and an active member of the Shickshinny American Legion Auxiliary, Post 495, where she was previously the membership chairperson for many years.
Her hobbies included ceramics, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed people, reading, sports, playing shuffleboard and cards. In her later years, Beverly was a proud member of the Berwick Bible Biddies.
Surviving are an uncle, James Gregory, of Perkiomenville, several cousins and numerous close friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, Ira C. Phillips and by an uncle, David Gregory.
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE PANDEMIC RESTRICTIONS, Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 25th, 2020 at 2:00 P. M. at the SHICKSHINNY AMERICAN LEGION PAVILION, 575 S.R.239,Shickshinny, with Pastor Tyler Rauhauser, officiating. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Shickshinny. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Town Hill United Methodist Church, 417 Town Hill Road, Shickshinny, PA 18655.
