Blanche Lorena (Hess) Bogert

Blanche Lorena (Hess) Bogert, 88, of Forks, Fishing Creek Township, died late Thursday evening, October 3, 2024 at the Gardens at Orangeville.

Born December 31, 1935 in Bethel Hill (Fairmount Township), she was a daughter of the late William Byron Hess, Sr. and Jennie Mae (Brown) Hess.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Morris Bogert on November 18, 2010.  

Blanche attended the Huntington Mills School.  She had worked for the former Dockey Shirt Factory in Benton years ago and then did babysitting and domestic work for area families.

She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and was known for her cooking, baking and gardening.

Surviving are five children:  Stanley Dwight Bogert, of Orangeville; Douglas Dean Bogert, of Dade City, Florida; Dennis Richard Bogert, of Orangeville; Dean Harry Bogert and his wife, Mary Ann, of Almedia; Daisy Mae Nichols and her husband, Cory, of Boyertown; 6 grandchildren:  Nichole Lynn Stone; Katrina Cose; Angela Stout; Jennifer Jurick; Anthony Franzeo; Briella Nichols; 9 great grandchildren:  Richard Stone, Kyle Cose, Leo Bordwell; Zoey Bordwell; Noelle Cose; Tristan Fowler; Izabella Jolea Gronka; Conner Joseph Gronka and Tristan Kalis. Also surviving are a brother, George Hess, of Connecticut as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her Parents and husband, Stanley, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny Bruce Bogert on April 23, 2002 and the following siblings:  Thelma McDaniels McMichael; Doris Mae Hess, who died in infancy; Dorothy Alice Saxe; Robert Alfred Hess; Archibald Barton Hess; William Byron Hess, Jr.; Mary Helen Stempien; Jennie Mae Volanski Titus; Shirley Madalean Gehling; and Laura Katherine Birth Breeding.  

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Rev. Mark Rowell, her Pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.  A Viewing will be held Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the Service at the Funeral Home.
