Carol Nickles Obituary

Carol Ann (Morgan) Nickles, 78, of Madison Township, passed away early Wednesday morning, December 24, 2025 at her home.

Born May 2, 1947 in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Edmund T. and Lydia (Forney) Morgan.  She and her husband, Gary Thomas Nickles, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 4th.

Carol was a graduate of South Williamsport High School and Mansfield University.  Over the years she had taught home economics at the Millville High School.  She also worked at Rancks Floral Shop in Iola, Exclusively You in Bloomsburg, Scotts Floral in Danville and ran her own flower shop in her home.

She was a member of the Mill-Green United Methodist Church where she designed and arranged the altar vases.

Carol enjoyed sewing and quilting, floral design and working in her flower garden.  In her retirement years, she found a new passion for quilting as well as making handbags and ornaments for craft shows. She loved making quilts and other thoughtful handmade gifts with a personal touch for her friends and family. She was also the go-to family seamstress, whether it be a pair of pants needing hemmed or a prom dress needing alterations. She especially cherished the time that she spent with her family and grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, Tom, are her three children:  Brian T. Nickles and his wife, Lori Ann, of Cranberry Township, PA: Kristy Ann Campbell and her husband, James, of Lightstreet; Corey R. Nickles and his wife, Brooke, of Benton; Seven grandchildren:  Lainy, Toby, Kelty, Olivia, Maggie, Clay and Callie; and a great granddaughter, Penelope.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Morgan.
