Chris W. Brewer, 70, of Bloomsburg, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, December 10, 2018 at Sunset Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Bloomsburg after losing his 7 month battle with brain cancer.
He was born May 19, 1948 in Bloomsburg, a son of Alma (Pooley) Brewer, of Orangeville and the late Doyle H. Brewer, who died February 2, 2015.
Chris was a 1966 graduate of Central Columbia High School, Bloomsburg. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air National Guard and later was activated into the U. S. Air Force, serving as an Air Evac Medical Technician during the Vietnam conflict.
He was employed by Bell Telephone of PA from 1972 until 1999 working in installation, construction and as a cable splicer technician. After retirement he owned and operated Brewer Electrical LLC until 2007, after which he worked part time with Martz Technologies, of Berwick.
Chris attended the Calvary Baptist Church, Bloomsburg. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, home projects and traveling with his wife and especially spending time with his daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. He was a very talented electrician and carpenter, learning much of his carpentry skills from his late grandfather, Earl Pooley, whom he loved dearly. He was a member of the Oriental Lodge, No. 460, F. & A. M., of Orangeville; the Bloomsburg Elks Lodge and the Orangeville Sportsmen's Club.
Surviving him are his wife of 39 years, Joan (Crawford) Brewer; daughters: Tracy Brewer (Jeff Campbell), of Seattle, WA; Crystal (Craig) Brennan, of Port Matilda, PA; Stefanie (Troy) Case, of Suwanee, GA; his grandchildren: Taylor Brennan, of Hartford, CT; Tyler, Tyson, Toby, and Trayce Brennan, of Port Matilda; Riley, Noah, and Mason Case, of Suwanee, GA; his mother, Alma Brewer, of Orangeville; his brother, Richard Brewer, of Orangeville; sister-in-law, Kelly Brewer, of Orangeville; brothers-in-law, Derl Crawford, Gary Crawford, of Millville; Ross Crawford, of Ouray, CO; a sister-in-law, Janet Welliver, of Mineral Ridge, OH and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Along with his father, Doyle H. Brewer, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dian in 2017; a brother, Scott in 2018 as well as his grandparents.
Services will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11 A. M. at Calvary Baptist Church, 3300 Ridge Road, Bloomsburg with Rev. Timothy G. Smith, his Pastor, officiating. A visitation will be held Friday from 10 AM until the time of the Service at 11 at the Church.
