Cynthia L. "Cindy" (Wintersteen) Murgatroyd

Cynthia L. "Cindy" (Wintersteen) Murgatroyd, 67, of Benton Township, died Saturday evening, December 21, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born August 12, 1957 in Bristol, Bucks County, PA, she was the daughter of Donald E. Wintersteen, of Benton Township, and the late Barbara (Oates) Wintersteen.  She was also preceded in  death  by her husband of 37 years, Raymond J. Murgatroyd, Jr., on October 11, 2023.

Cindy was a graduate of  Pensbury High School in Bucks County.  She had been  employed by Educational Testing Service in Ewing, NJ and after moving to Columbia County, she worked at Weis Markets in Bloomsburg.  

While living in Bucks County she was a member of Emily Methodist Church and after moving to Columbia County, attended St. James United Church of Christ.

Cindy was an animal  lover and a supporter of the local SPCA and wildlife organizations.

Surviving, in addition to her father, Donald, are her daughter, Courtney L. Kelley and her husband, Cole, of Bloomsburg and a grandson, Easton Kelley, as well as her aunt, Linda Chichilitti, of Danville.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory  to the Danville S. P.  C. A., 1467 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821 or  any animal rescue organization.  The McMichael Funeral Home, Inc.,  of Benton,  is honored to serve the Murgatroyd Family.
