Darlene Jeanne Ley, 73, of Sugarloaf Township, formerly of Shamokin, died on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
She was born on October 30, 1951 in Shamokin to the late Robert & Helen (Raker) Hopta.
Darlene is known by her friends and family to be a good Christian Woman. She was very generous and always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. She was a dog lover, and in her earlier years even bred Dobermans. Darlene was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Shamokin and she was an avid reader.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tracey Shingara and Tara Cossari (Rodney); her two step-children, Stafford Ley (Brandi) and Colby Ley (Whitney); her adopted daughter, Phyllis Reichenbach; her siblings, Daniel Hopta and Curtis Hopta; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stafford G. Ley; and her siblings, Jim Hopta, Robert Hopta and Janice Steinhart.
