David F. Steinruck, 69, of Danville, and formerly of the Benton area, died late Monday evening, January 10, 2022 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born January 4, 1953 at the Berwick Hospital, he was a son of the late Franklin D. Steinruck and Ethel Elaine (Hess) Steinruck.
David was a 1970 graduate of Benton High School and served in the U. S. Navy. He worked as a truck driver for most of his life.
He was a member of the Bloomsburg and Danville Moose Lodges and the American Legion. He enjoyed bowling in the winter and golf in the summer months and had a great love for horses. He was well known for his infectious laugh.
Surviving, are a son, Michael D. Steinruck and his wife, Joanna, of Benton; four grandchildren: Lane, Summer, Angela and Austin; his siblings: Diane S. Hubler, of Bloomsburg; Debbie Chamberlain and her husband, Mark, of Orangeville; Franklin Steinruck and his wife, Jean, of Lancaster; Stephen Steinruck and his fiancée, Helen Litwhiler, of Buckhorn; a step brother, John Reel and his wife, Anne, of Allentown and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving is David's special friend, Lori Krum.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angel Steinruck; two brothers: Donald J. Steinruck and Stanley D. Steinruck and a half sister, Melodie Diehl.
A Celebration of David's life will be held at a later date. The McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., of Benton, is honored to serve the Steinruck Family.
