Donald “Don” Harry Bogert, 84, of Warners, N.Y., passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at Upstate Community Hospital. His wife of 59 years, Mary Ellen (Carey), and their four children were by his side. Don’s spirits were lifted until the end, by the love and support of his large family and many friends.

Don was born on Aug. 18, 1937, the eighth child of the late Harry Ervin and Hulda Esther (Chapin) of Stillwater.

A 1956 graduate of Huntington Mills High School, Don earned his bachelor’s degree in business education from Wilkes University in 1962 and master’s degree in education from SU in 1966. He was CFO, board member and treasurer of Westar Federal Credit Union for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Waterloo Boys Tractor Club, the Arbor Day Foundation, the Audubon Society and New Columbus Alumni Association. An avid sports fan, he loved Syracuse Orange basketball, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family.

Don joins his parents and siblings in the Great Beyond: his mother, Hulda; father, Harry; brothers: Leland (Arlene) Bogert and Stanley, D. Guy; and sister Elsie (William) Mack, and brothers-in-law: Louis Harris and Byron Burgess.
