Donald B. Yarmol, 75, of New Columbus Borough, died early Thursday morning, August 26th, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born November 11, 1945 in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Dorothy (Uren) Yarmol. He and his wife, Judy A. (Zimmerman) Yarmol, would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on September 15th.
Mr. Yarmol was a graduate of Northwest Area High School and then the Pennsylvania State Police Academy at Hershey. He worked as a state policeman for 20 years, retiring in 1987. He was also co-owner of Bear Dodge of Eyers Grove and was involved with the PATH program (Pennsylvania Treatment and Healing).
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Fishing Creek Sportsmen's Association and had served as President of New Columbus Borough Council.
An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Judy, are his two children: Donald A. Yarmol and Tara Williams and her husband, Chris, all of New Columbus; a granddaughter, Ania Williams and a great grandson, Dillan Johnson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, September 1st, 2021 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487). Pastor Michael T. Bodek and Pastor Robert K. Andrews will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the Service at 11:00 at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the S.P.C.A., 1467 Bloom Road, Danville, PA 17821.
