Donald "Don" Davis Obituary

Donald G. "Don" Davis, 84, of Orangeville, died unexpectedly Monday evening at his home.

Born December 8, 1940 in Manhattan, New York, he was the son of the late Charles and Helen (Staples) Davis.  He and his wife, Marian (Summers) Davis, would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 13th.

Don was a 1959 graduate of Central Columbia High School and then faithfully served his country in the U. S. Navy.

He spent most of his working life as a machinist and maintenance worker and had been employed by various area businesses including the former Fulton Lamp Company in Berwick, until they closed.  He had also worked for Hanover Brands, Consolidated Cigar, CCFNB Bank, now Journey Bank, and Basile Physical Therapy.

Don was a long time member of Kitchens United Methodist Church where he had served on the Administrative Board and was a Sunday School Teacher.

Don was often found tinkering in his garage fixing lawnmowers for the neighborhood. He was affectionately known as "Pappy Fix It" by his grandchildren. He was also a noted harmonica player and played with the Evansville Gang for many years.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Marian, are his two children:  Christine Brannon and her husband, Charles, of Mt. Pleasant Township; Mark Davis, of High Point, NC; two granddaughters:  Sarah Brannon and her husband, Jeff, of Berwick; Ellen Paskill and her husband, Dan, of Aston, PA; a step granddaughter, Macie Helwig, of High Point, NC; six great grandchildren:  Clara, Connor, Caleb and Charlie Brannon; and Dylan and Rowan Paskill.

Don was also blessed with a special family of loving siblings: Wayne Martenas and his wife, Marian, of Lititz; Dale Martenas and his wife, Kay, of Bloomsburg; Barbara Hess, of Bloomsburg; Beverly Ruotolo, of Orangeville; Sharleen Martenas (deceased) and Connie Reich, of Lewisburg.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2 PM at Kitchens United Methodist Church, 262 Welliversville Road, Millville, with burial in Kitchen's Cemetery.
