Dorothy J. (Temple) Miller

Dorothy J. (Temple) Miller, 96, of Benton (Sugarloaf Township), died early Saturday morning, January 11, 2025 at her home.

Born July14, 1928 in Sugarloaf Township, she was a daughter of the late Freeman and Neva B. (Stout) Temple.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George M. Miller, on March 27, 2015.

Mrs. Miller graduated from the Sugarloaf School in Grassmere.  In her younger years, she worked as a beautician.  She had also served as the hairdresser for Bonham Nursing Center, for many years.

She was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church of Benton and was a 50 year Sunday School teacher.

Her hobbies included camping, fishing and doing ceramics, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving, are her two sons:  James M. Miller and his wife, Darlene, and Gary L. Miller and his wife, Hope, all of Benton. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and numerous  nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death along with her Parents and her husband, George, are two sons:  George S. Miller on April 23, 2006 and David A. Miller on June 10, 2016; and a grandson, Christopher G. Miller on September 11, 2002.  She was the last member of her immediate family being preceded in death by the following siblings:  Lena Harps, Helen Marr, Virginia Davis, Beatrice Dunn, Stanley Temple, Franklin D. Temple, Ronald L. Temple and Freeman L. Temple, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 10:30 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton with the Rev. Paul S. Moseley, Sr., her Pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Sugarloaf Township.  A Viewing will be held Wednesday from
