Drue Spaide Obituary

Drue S. Spaide, 90, of North Centre Township, died Monday, August 2nd, 2021 at his home.

Born May 22, 1931 in Nescopeck, he was a son of the late Clarence and Elsie (Baylor) Spaide.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jane (McCormick) Spaide, on August 20th, 2015.

Drue  was a 1949 graduate of the former Nescopeck High School.  In his younger years, he worked on the Zehner farm in Nescopeck and then worked as a plasterer.  He was last employed by Schultz Electroplating for 30 years, retiring in January 1993. 

He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.  He had been awarded the National Defense Service Medal; the United Nations Service Medal; the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars and the Combat Infantryman badge.

Drue was a long time member of the Orangeville United Church and was a life member of the  Nescopeck Fire Company.

He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and hunting for arrowheads. 

Surviving are five nieces and one nephew.

Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers:  Harold and  Zane Spaide.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial  in the  Mifflinville Cemetery.  The McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., of Benton, is honored  to serve the Spaide Family.
