E. Charles Morris, 85, of rural Orangeville, Greenwood Township, died late Saturday evening, April 9th, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born August 9, 1936 in Bloomsburg, he was a son of the late Melvin O. and Lois G. (Sweeney) Morris.
He was a 1954 graduate of Millville High School and later in life had earned his Associate degree from Luzerne County Community College in Hotel and Restaurant Management.
Charles faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1958.
Charles was a member of the Rohrsburg Christian Church and the Columbia County Covered Bridge Association.
Charles was a very active Mason and was a Past Master of Oriental Lodge, No. 460, Orangeville; Past High Priest of Bloomsburg/Berwick Royal Arch Chapter, No. 218; Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Council No. 10; Past Commander of Crusade Commandery and was elevated to the Post of Division Commander of Division No. 14; Past Sovereign Master of Robert L. Rooke Council No. 343 Allied Masonic Degrees. He was also a member of the Orient Conclave Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine; Knight Mason Northeast Council No.74 Penn Priory No. 6, Knights of the York Cross of Honour, Pennsylvania York Rite College No. 11; member of the Rugged Cross White Shrine No. 39; Caldwell Consistory and the Order of Eastern Star, of Bloomsburg.
He was an avid golfer but especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his five children: Faith L. Daily (Jeff) of Millville; Brian C. Morris (Kelli) of Millville; Hope R. Royer, of Greenwood Valley; Charity J. Robbins, of Waller; Brant E. Morris (Megan) of Berwick; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Also surviving are his two brothers: Robert E. Morris and his wife, Eulalia, of Millville and Douglas L. Morris and his wife, Peggy, also of Millville.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann Griffin.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 15th, 2022 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Pastor Michael Woolcock, officiating. Burial will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge with full military honors. A Viewing will be held Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at McMichael's and also Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11. Masonic Services will be Thursday evening at 7 PM.
