Elizabeth A. "Beth" (Shultz) Gough, 72, of Benton Township, died Friday, August 27th, 2021 at the Bloomsburg Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Born March 3, 1949 at the Bloomsburg Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Anna (Yost) Shultz. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Onesium Clark Burgess. She married her second husband, Francis J. Gough, who was the love of her life and soul-mate on December 24th, 1992 and they would have celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary this December.
Beth had been employed by the Benton Foundry for 38 years where she worked as a stationary grinder. She was an active life member of the North Mountain Fire Company, Station 260 and enjoyed helping with their annual carnivals in the cheesesteak stand, earning the title, "The Cheesesteak Lady."
She was known for her love for animals and especially enjoyed horse-back riding.
She enjoyed spending time with her family which includes her three children: Tammy Burgess; Clark Burgess; and Kristie Mowery, all of Benton. Also surviving are her five grandchildren: Travis Swisher, of Millville; Chelsee Natale, of Bloomsburg; Bridgette Lynn, of Bloomsburg; Tyler Swisher, of Benton; Brianna Hansen, of Norfolk,, VA; eight great grandchildren: Waylen, Brayden, Layla, Carson, Hudson, Emma, Willow and Walker as well as her sister, Donna, Huff, of Bloomsburg.
Along with her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Beth Ann Bacon.
A viewing will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 10 AM until 12 Noon at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487). Private burial will be in the Raven Creek Cemetery at a later date.
